Gavaskar tips Tendulkar to come good against England ? Cricket News Update
Sunil Gavaskar, the former India captain, is delighted to see Sachin Tendulkar scoring runs in Ranji Trophy and is confident that the little-master will regain his form in international cricket very soon.
Representing Mumbai, the 39-year-old legendary batsman smacked a brilliant 137 off just 136 balls, in which he struck 21 boundaries and three massive hits out of the park. The batting-maestro looked in complete control and seems to have regained his lost touch.
Tendulkar has been struggling in international cricket over the last 18 months, failing to deliver the goods against England and Australia last year, where the Men in Blue were miserably whitewashed.
Against New Zealand at home this year, the former India skipper could only score 63 runs in three innings and was troubled by the Kiwi bowlers. Since the retirement of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman, there has been a lot of pressure on Tendulkar to call it a day as well, after 23 years of international cricket.
Gavaskar, who himself is considered to be among the best batsmen produced by the sub-continent, has immense faith in Sachin?s abilities and work-ethic. Every cricketer goes through lean patches in his career but Gavaskar is of the view that it is very hard to stop Tendulkar from scoring runs for a long period of time.
?He is one the most hardworking studious guys you come across. I think Sachin would have got enough time to think about how he got out. If he has got the runs now, obviously he has worked hard for it,? said the former opening batsman.
While talking about the upcoming Test series between India and England, which begins from November 15, at Ahmedabad, Gavaskar expressed that runs will start to flow from Tendulkar?s bat once again.
?"The evidence will be seen in the Test matches. The fact that he has got runs is a good sign," he added.
With more than 33 thousand runs and 100 international centuries, Sachin is surely one of the all time best, who has almost all the batting records under his belt. It remains to be seen that he prolongs his career after the series against England or decides to hang his boots.
