In a situation where a home is almost falling in value ? I want to know if one has to wait long before the taxes reset to the new value. I have heard they reset every 3 years. Is that correct? Thanks. Best answer:

You do not have to wait ?. Contact your county assessor on Monday and request updated appraisal. Believe me a lot of people are doing it. It?s free and, most importantly, your property taxes will reflect the true valuation of your property appraised.
